Ministry of Tourism has recently launched The Incredible India Tourist Facilitator Certification (IITFC). The program aims to create an online platform to provide training and certification to new-age tourist facilitators available anytime, anywhere, any device and self-paced. Enabling Indian citizens to develop and enhance the skills associated with tourism, it is a digital initiative where one can incorporate knowledge about facilitating tourists across the country.
The certification program comprises of basic and advance self-paced courses designed in a manner that the users can learn at their own time, space, path and pace. The certification programme comprises of basic, advance, Refresher and Lingual self-paced courses.
Any individual with a minimum 10+2 qualification can register for the program. Registrations are open and costs INR 2000. The program will be driven online and only one exam would require the candidate’s physical presence. This has been done to ensure a larger pan-India participation.
The basic course contains modules aimed at training the facilitators in knowledge, skills and attitude domains. It also contains state specific modules. Successful completion of this program would enable the learner to become a Certified Tourist Facilitator of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
A refresher course is also proposed in due time for those already in the field seeking at an advanced level course to enhance their skill set. This would include multiple interactive modules by experts in the field and from trained facilitators already active in the industry.
Advanced course would contain specialization courses for specific topics like Heritage, Adventure, etc. This would be enabled only post successful completion of the Basic course.
Dedicated language specific courses containing modules pertaining to specific regions specializing in regional and lingual skills for tourist facilitators.
The program aspires to reach out to a far-flung audience encompassing a diversity of candidates ranging from an enthusiastic student who has recently qualified for higher secondary to an ambitious homemaker willing to grasp tourist facilitation skills from the comfort of their home.
