According to online travel portal Ezeego1.com, Bali tops the list of the most desired honeymoon destination by Indian couples. Maldives and Thailand follow in the second and third place, respectively. While Greece and Paris still remain popular, Seychelles makes it to the top five recording fastest growth in searches as compared to last year.
The data is based on Ezeego1’s analysis of customer inquiries for honeymoon packages made online between January and June 2017 and highlights international destinations that Indian couples have set their eyes on.
According to Neelu Singh, CEO and Director – Ezeego1.com, “Indian couples love travelling to beach destinations that offer visa-on-arrival options. Unlike wedding preparations that involve family members, honeymoon is an intimate affair that most couples choose to plan on their own at least six months to a year in advance.”
She adds, “Bali is on the priority list of most honeymooners. Its sandy beaches and scenic beauty complemented with stunning luxurious villas offering luxury spa retreats and wellness programs make it a perfect getaway for couples. Free visa-on-arrival options and plans to increase direct flight connectivity will make Bali even more appealing.”
Maldives is home to some of the greatest luxury hotels in the world and a preferred holiday destination by Bollywood celebrities, making it even more aspirational. It draws the attention of honeymooners’ due to its relaxed visa policies, direct air connectivity from major Indian cities and activities like snorkelling and diving.
Thailand comes third staying consistent in attracting couples catering to all kind of budgets and needs while Greece and Paris remain evergreen and more affordable than ever with the falling value of Euro.
Seychelles is coming up in a big way as an aspiring and emerging destination for honeymooners. Air Seychelles has started operating direct flights between Mumbai and Seychelles five times a week and this has aided the growth of Indian honeymooners heading to Seychelles by almost two-fold this year.
Mauritius is famous with couples for its range of exotic stay options, excellent beaches, climate and marine life. Srilanka remains an ideal honeymoon destination for couples looking at short haul options and affordable getaway.
Scotland and Budapest both believed to be romantic destinations in the world make it to the top 10 because of the favourable exchange rates they offer providing a great value for honeymooners.
